With your generous donations we help bright kids from poor families finish SAS high school. A high school education gives the new graduate access to higher education, a trade, or a career. Education is Freedom!
THE BEGINNING: A bright child whose grade average is 87% or higher applies for financial aid to attend and finish SAS high school. Her parents' combined annual gross income is less than $1867 USD or less than PhP 80,000 Philippine pesos. After the initial interview and a visit with the family at the applicant's home, the applicant completes the documents and writes an essay explaining why he or she should be given financial aid. The application process is capped with a pre-test and the parents signing a contract agreement that states the applicant will complete the high school program at St Augustine's School.
Jazell Rose A Peck (left), with her Mom and Uncle, is interviewed by Ms Tina Laycano, SAS Ai auditor (right front) who was on vacation in Dardarat at the time Jazell applied for financial aid.
Mr & Mrs Doctor pictured here with their son, Randy Doctor, Jr., (right front) who was applying for financial aid. Randy had quite a rough ride in high school before he settled down into his junior year. By the time he took his senior year finals he was close to getting himself on the honor roll. Today he is about to graduate college. He will be an secondary school teacher upon graduation.
THE END PRODUCT: A student in our financial aid program graduates high school earning high honors. A smiling mother pins the award on her daughter's school uniform. Both mother and daughter beam with pride and are grateful to our benefactors.
