Her trademark is shyness. She won't even talk to you unless she knew you. She is very reserved. But lately, Rose Ann has been slowly showing signs of coming out of her shell. Which is very good because when the Field Team traveled all the way to Lantag to interview her, the one common observation they wrote about Rose Ann was that she was shy. In fact maybe too shy for her own good.

But they liked her grades and overall demeanor. She has poise. She shows much promise. And so she was awarded a scholarship to attend SAS high school. None could have been more happy than Rose Ann. She exclaimed it's like going home. You see, in the earlier years she attended SAS Kindergarten and moving up to Grade One. Then she had to change schools because of family hardships.

Today, Rose Ann wrote me a letter describing her first day in school. Her spirits were high and she sounded like someone who was pumping lots of adrenalin. With joy in her expression she informed me that on that first day in class she got to meet new friends, new classmates. She also met her teacher. The most amazing aspect of her report was summarized in this sentence:  "When the teacher asked who would like to be class leader, I raised my hand."

It was a most unusual gesture coming from Rose Ann. What happened was that she was determined to come out of her shyness in order to shine. She is determined to be successful that is why she braced herself and volunteered. The teacher was pleased with Rose Ann's action. She is the class leader and no doubt will do a great job at it.

Wow! What a difference a day makes!
