We are more than what all these groups purport themselves to be and even when combined.
Where we differ is in philosophy and in our mission. As a side effect of being open and transparent we also have a different vision. Philosophically, we believe in the creed that our future is in our young people's hands. We believe that although we are scattered all over the world, and although we have left our dear hometown of Tagudin upon our graduation from SAS, we still belong to the same Ilocano Heritage Tree, share the same roots, and so we return home, feeling all the more attached to our townmates, former neighbors, and friends.
But words are cheap. How do we show that we are truly serious about our philosophy of putting our faith in our young children? We do it by making it possible for them to get a good secondary education at our Alma Mater SAS. We do it voluntarily, willingly, expecting nothing in return except the desire and longing to hope that these kids will someday carry the same torch of responsibility and "pay it forward" for the next generation.
Our mission is to seek out, interview, have a conversation with bright, promising but very needy Tagudin youth in order to qualify them for a four-year high school scholarship award to attend SAS. Our vision is to be able to reach out to as many needy students as possible, to as many needy families as possible, and to as many needy parents as possible in order to give them a hand.
The membership of SAS Ai is comprised of former SAS students and alumni, now professionals who volunteer their time, talent, and personal resources in order to help young, promising but indigent Tagudin youth get a high school education at SAS by offering them scholarship assistance.
