These are generalizations and stereotypical statements. Generalizations are not true descriptions of the subject. They are a collective notion of what is perceived to be the truth. Generalizations fall short of the facts. Level-headed people should stay away from using generalizations. It would be like saying that all first year high school students are inexperienced. This could be true for some but then for others specially those who live in the farm and work the soil and the fields, this may not be true at all.

Many times people try to hide from the truth by using a "straw man". They come up with all sorts of examples in order to clear themselves from direct involvement. For example, when a person is caught telling an untruth, they will say, "You know 85% of all people tell lies." As if to say that to tell a lie is no big deal. In this case then, the 85% of the population is called the straw man.

This kind of behavior is called juvenile behavior. But as people grow older, they are expected to mature and to learn how to do things the right and proper way. To try and bite the tail of an adult tiger is dangerous at best, and so even if one is just a young kitten and filled with play it is better to control one's desires and stick to the truth.
