Tina replied, “I was about to ask the same question. It is now San Pedro Elementary School (it is the public elementary school for Dardarat/San Pedro combined).”
Vicky chimed in, “The name of the school is SAN PEDRO COMMUNITY SCHOOL, Brgy. Dardarat. So far until now we do not have any applicant(s) in this school although I gave samples of application forms together with the criteria to ESHT Jonathan Alcause. The reason the head teacher said to me was their students want still to study in Public school because of the different competition(s) (Math, Science, English, sports, etc.) in Public schools offered to the students. With this the students can show their talents and have the chance to travel to different places like Sinait, Laoag, Vigan etc.). Sometimes students get the chance to go also in Cebu, Davao if they win in the competition here in the Ilocos Region. SAS don't have these kinds of privileges for their students.”
Willie replied, “Excellent info Ading Tina. I suggest we should interview prospective scholars there too. San Pedro/St. Peter School is my alma mater. I finished 6th grade as the Salutatorian because my conduct was a "Z". I did deliver the Salutatory address because my father was the guest speaker! Manuel Valencia was the Valedictorian who is presently a Jesuit priest and I think assigned in Guatemala. I remember Maestro Basi and Maestro Leon, Maestro Jose Lapitan. They were the best! Does anyone remember them? I recall the late Lolong Usting Lardizabal who was the first teacher of San Pedro. He should have a bust built in his honor. He was a great teacher although he never had the credentials. I never forgot the school-wide parades and relays. Maestro Leon was my third grade teacher who had a fish eye. Thank you Vicky for your time and efforts, I didn't realize they changed the name of the school into San Pedro Community School. If that's the case, the students lose their chances to go to private school like SAS.”
Tina responded with, “During those Field Days and Independence Day Parades (it was still July 4th at the time), I had been the commander in my class from Grade 1 to Grade 6, don't know why I was always picked, maybe because I have the loudest mouth, he he he! It was my alma mater too....I laughed at your conduct "Z", was there such? ha ha ha! I was an honour student too and 1st in Religion (naks!) in Grade 6. Yes, Maestro Bassi was my teacher in Grade 4 and Maestro Leon Leal was my teacher in Grade 6. According to Manang Pat, Fr. Manuel Valencia is in a remote village in Indonesia, he is now a citizen over there. They write each other sometimes.
Willie replied, “Really? Fr. Valencia is in Indonesia and Pat is communicating with him too? WOW! I will write Pat so we can all communicate. Thanks Ading Tina and congratulations once again for being first in Religion! That was an awesome medal around your neck wasn't it? Deacon, please let the interviewing committee to include our alma mater. thank you in advance.”
